Chris Mylrae

Chris lives and breathes the creation of video content of all scales from smalltime streamed video, to TV commercials and big screen delivery.

His interest in video was sparked at an early age.  Playing with early industrial black-and-white “frame grabbers” he would capture frames from VHS and rebuild image sequences into primitive video, even programming his own CODEC to play the videos on his school’s “out-of-date” computers.

Chris founded Cybertrix Media in 1999 and started creating promo videos, events packages, corporate presentations, and video training resources.  His creative endeavors saw him film and edit music videos – some of which have charted internationally – and he regularly completes post-production on documentaries, TV commercials and cinema content.

With over 300 productions under the belt, Chris has come across a range of situations and budgets, often having to think outside-the-box of traditional technology and techniques.  He is a workflow consultant to some of Australia’s leading brands and media outlets, and a beta tester of video editing software.

His software expertise includes DaVinci Resolve, Edius, Premiere, Vegas, Reaper, Cool Edit Pro, Photoshop and a mountain of additional tools to help him though his day.

His favorite piece of gear is his trusty second-hand Panasonic MX30 video switcher.  “It’s instant power on, does what it says on the box and never fails me!”
